Rift: Mage Calling


 
The Mage in RIFT is similar to the traditional mage definition of all other games. Of the 8 souls for the Mage, there are 3 traditional AE DPS, 2 pet, 2 hybrid support souls and one healer soul.

Area Effect (AE) Souls:
- Pyromancer is the mage soul that uses fire based damage over time (DOTs) and nukes on its target
- Warlock is the mage soul that utilizes death magic based (DOTs) and nukes on its target
- Stormcaller is the mage soul that weilds weather based magic (DOTs) and nukes on its target

Pet Souls:
- Necromancer is the mage soul that utilizes death magic to compliment series of single pets to deal damage, along with DOTs and nukes on its target
- Elementalist is the mage soul that utilizes elemental magic to compliment series of single pets to deal damage, along with DOTs and nukes on its target

Hybrid Support Souls:
- Archon is the mage soul that specializes in bolstering and buffing allies while stealing and converting a target's strengths into useful energies
- Dominator is the mage soul that specializes in croud control similar to a typical enchanter

Healer Soul:
- Chloromancer is the mage soul that specializes in life magic to deal damage to heal as long as Lifegiving Veil is active. Several instant cast heals make this soul formidable.

Armor
Mages wear cloth armor and their main stat is intellect. Spell Power is now 50% Intelligence, 50% Wisdom.
