Rift: Shaman


Shaman is a cleric melee dps soul. All numbers listed are from the rank 1 abilities/talents unless otherwise stated.

(Root abilities)
Damage oriented
-Faith in Action: Passive. Increases the cleric's attack power by their spell power, physical crit by spell crit and melee hit by spell focus.
-Vengeance of the Winter Storm: Buff. All of the cleric's melee attack abilities deal an additional 2 water damage. 1 hour duration. Only one vengeance can be active at a time. 8 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.
-Crushing Blow: Deals weapon plus 5-7 physical damage. 7 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, melee range.
-Lightning Hammer: Deals weapon plus 9-11 physical damage plus an additional 18 air damage. 6 second duration. 13 mana, 6 second cooldown, instant cast, melee range.
-Fated Blow: Reactive. Deals 20-23 physical damage. Must be used after the cleric has been dodged or parried. Cannot be dodged or parried. Does not trigger global cooldown. 13 mana, 6 second cooldown, instant cast, melee range.
-Massive Blow: deals weapon plus 27-29 physical damage. 15 mana, 15 second cooldown, instant cast, melee range.
-Avalance Strike: Deals weapon plus 23-26 physical damage to up to 3 enemies in front of you. 51 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, no range listed.
-Vengeance of the Piercing Cold: All of the cleric's melee attack abilities increase the physical damage the enemy takes by 5% for 10 seconds. 1 hour duration. Only one vengeance can be active at a time. 43 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.
Call of Ice: Passive. Increases the damage of your massive blow by 5% plus an additional 4% per point spent in the shaman soul above 36. Also increases the attack power bonus of your massive blow by 5% plus an additional 1% per point spent in the shaman soul above 36.
-Vengeance of the Primal North: All of the cleric's melee attack abilities deal an additional 26 air damage to up to 3 enemies within 7 meters. 25 second duration. Only 1 vengeance can be active at a time. 98 mana, 2 minute cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.

Healing
-Glory of the Chosen: Reactive. Heals the cleric for 113-117 health. Can only be used after being critically hit. Does not trigger global cooldown. 18 mana, 6 second cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.

Mana regen
-Ageless Ice: All of the cleric's melee attack abilities restore 10% of the cleric's mana. 10 second duration. No mana cost, 1 minute cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.

Group buffs
-Courage of the Jaguar: Increases the dexterity of all group and raid members by 5. Only 1 courage spell can be maintained at a time. 9 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, no range listed.
-Courage of the Bear: Increases the strength of all group and raid members by 5. Only 1 courage spell can be maintained at a time. 26 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, no range listed.
-Courage of the Eagle: Increases the wisdom of all group and raid members by 10.Only 1 courage spell can be maintained at a time. 282 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, no range listed.

Other
-Heart of the Frozen Sea: Increases the cleric's resistance to air and water by 30. 1 hour duration. Only 1 heart spell can be active at a time. 43 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.
-Heart of the Fire Mountain: Increases the cleric's resistance to fire and earth by 30.1 hour duration. Only 1 heart spell can be active at a time. 43 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.
-Bitter Wind: Interrupts the target's spell casting. 65 mana, 20 second cooldown, instant cast, 30 meter range.
-Heart of the Twilight Forest: Increases the cleric's resistance to life and death by 30.1 hour duration. Only 1 heart spell can be active at a time. 43 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.

Damage oriented
-Unyielding: Increases melee critcal hit chance by 1/2/3/4/5%.
-Dauntless Courage: Increases physical damage by 1/2/3/4/5%.
-Overwhelming: Increases your critical hit damage and healing bonus by 4/8/12/16/20%.
-Strike of the Maelstrom: Deals weapon plus 43-47 physical damage to up to 6 enemies. 61 mana, 10 second cooldown, instant cast, 7 meter range.
-Eye of the Storm: Strike of the mealstrom deals an additional 20/40/60% air damage over 4 seconds.
-Battle Charge: Charges the enemy dealing weapon plus 33-36 physical damage. Snares the enemy for 70% for 9 seconds. Removes snares and roots. 22 mana, 15 second cooldown, instant cast, 3-20 meter range.
-Rage of the North: All of the cleric's melee attacks to critically hit. 7 second duration. Does not cause global cooldown. 43 mana, 1.5 second cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.
-Brutalize: Massive blow does an additional 20/40% damage over 4 seconds.
-Lust for Blood: Critical hits with melee attack abilities cause an additional 10/20/30% damage.
-Frozen Embrace: Massive blow has an additional 6/12/18/24/30% to critically hit.

Other
-Thick Skinned: Reduces damage taken by 1/2/3%.
-Glacial Shield: Shields the cleric, absorbing 160 damage in addition to dealing 7 water damage to attackers when hit. 30 second duration. 13 mana, 30 second cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.
-Favored of the Valnir: Increases the healing you receive by 5/10%.
-Vengeance of the Frozen Earth: All of the cleric's melee attack abilities snare the enemy by 50% for 6 seconds. 1 hour duration. Only 1 vengeance can be active at a time. 43 mana, no cooldown, instant cast, self-cast only.

Mana regen
-Melee critical hits cause you to restore 2/4% of your maximum mana.

Playstyle
Keep buffs up. Charge with battle charge. Use glacial shield and ageless ice as necessary. Keep lightning hammer on target as much as possible. Use massive blow when not on cooldown, spam crushing blow. Use rage of the north when in trouble. If multiple targets use strike of the maelstrom when not on cooldown and spam avalanche strike.

Pros
-Good crit chance.
-Good mana regen.
-Good area of effect damage.
-Good buffs.

Cons
-Very little healing.
-Poor survivability without the help of other souls.

complementary souls
-Druid: added 1/2/3/4/5% crit chance. Increased attack power by 1/2/3/4/5% of spell power. A few extra attacks. Fae hammer for extra mana regen. Small heals and dps from 0 point fae pet. Small single target heal on cooldown.
-Justicar: Added 3/6/9/12/15% armor. Added 1/2/3/4/5% damage from melee attack abilities. Small self-only heal requiring convictions. Good buffs. Small healing to self/group from damaging abilities. Area of effect heal requiring convictions. Extra damage from spells from censure.
