Rift: Warlord


The RIFT Warlord is a support tank roll. I see a build with Warlord as the primary soul as a MA or OT role. I has many abilities that can increase the DPS of group/raid members.


Threat/Agrro attacks:

-Leader's Mark: Melee attack that deals weapon plus 7 to 8 (base) physical dmg also increases dmg done to target with melee attacks by 5% for 15 seconds and Increases threat.
-Sergent's Command: Pulls target to you from range and Forced Target for 3 sec.
-Pin Target: Deals weapon plus 25-27 (base) physical dmg, and roots target in place for up to 8 seconds. Increases threat
-Cracking Skulls: Short range AE melee attack that can hit up to 10 targets for weapon plus 9-10 physical dmg. Affected enemies are Forced Target for 3 sec.
-Promise of Steel: AE frontal attack that hits up to 8 enemies dealing weapon plus 55 to 59 Physical dmg.(base) Increases threat.
-Killing Field Short: Short range AE melee attack that can hit up to 10 targets for weapon plus physical dmg every 2 sec. for 12 sec.
1 Point: 100% of weapon plus 119 damage.
2 Points: 100% of weapon plus 208 damage.
3 Points: 100% of weapon plus 296 damage.
Increases threat

Utility/Support abilities:

-Spotter's Order: Increases the damage target takes from all attacks for 6 seconds:
1 Point: +2 damage, +1 to damage over time effects.
2 Points: +3 damage, +2 to damage over time effects.
3 Points: +5 damage, +3 to damage over time effects. (base)
-Commander's Order: Increases dmg or healing of the ally's next ability, and reduces their threat for 15 seconds.
1 Point: +5% damage or healing.
2 Points: +10% damage or healing.
3 Points: +15% damage or healing.
-Call to Arms: Increases melee dmg to target.. More details to follow.
-Call to Focus Fire: Increases spell dmg to target.. More details to follow.
-Call to Aid: Unknown at this time
-Rallying Call: Unknown at this time

Aspects:

Aspects are group/raid wide buffs.. Only one aspect may be active at a time.

-Aspect of the Fallen Hero: Grants all party members a bonus of 5 (base) to Endurance.
-Aspect of the Elements: Grants all party or raid members a bonus of 25(base) to Fire, Earth, Air, and Water resists.
-Aspect of the Rifts: Reduces magic dmg done to party members by 10% (base)

Distractions
Distractions are long duration AE effects that in some way weaken your enemies. Only one distraction may be active at a time.

-Battlefield Distraction: Distract nearby enemies in combat, reducing their chance to hit by 5%. (Base)
-Cutting Distraction: Get in the way of nearby enemies, causing them to take 5% (base) extra damage from melee attacks.
-Planar Distraction:Get in the way of nearby enemies, causing their casting time to increase by 20%. (base)

Other things of interest:

I am not going to go into detail on every ability of the warlord tree by name, but here are some highlights..

Bonus's to Armor 10%, Block 5%, and Dodge 5%..
Bonus to healing received %15..
After being hit with a critical attack. Heal 25% of the damage done..
Increase health regeneration by 80%..

Now on some of the down side..

Early on the class lacks much of the threat building attacks that other tank classes such as paladin seem to be heavy in.. Warlord also lacks any type of endurance bonus. This is where you may want to spend those extra points (Paladin or Reaver) if you plan to build a warlord heavy spec.
